Projection to the Future : Garments and Ethical Buying
What I am basically speaking of today is that I am having flashes of the future of how we, the people are leading our lives.
In the terms of prosperity and status, and also in the terms of how the people are contributing to themselves and to the rich and to the poor.
Basically my point of view I would like to share is that how some things are getting ridiculously cheap and some things are getting ridiculously expensive.
In this piece I am talking about how things are getting ridiculously cheap.
Who are the people who determines the price and value of any material on this earth.
And how do we go about it.
The first impression that left a mark on me is how in X-Country, there are varieties of clothing’s that are sold at ridiculously price range. And even more oblivious the garments are no doubt sourced from China, and the wholesale cost there is ridiculously priced as well. And many more around the world especially the 3rd World Countries.
If what we pay is what we get, then is what we get is as fair as what or who made it?
Is this a fair trade to strike a point?
If slave labour exists in China, do we have a say in the matter? IF it “still” exists that is. No doubt there is slave labour anywhere in this world.
For example in Situation 1.
If we were in China, we were locked in a factory; sewing almost to a thousand of garments in one day with only 1 break and everything we do is controlled. Then is this fair buying trade for the consumers?
Can we educate the consumers to know where their purchases are made and from whom they are created?
Situation 2: Can you imagine a 13 year old girl, that is kidnapped in the middle of the night in a little province in a secluded part of a village in China, forced to learn to sew and forced to sew ![]()
this picture depicts a young girl who were rescued from a clothes factory by policemen in China. more in detail here. http://www.asianoffbeat.com/default.asp?Display=1741
garments from a large black market corporation mainly knock-off brands just to be distributed around the world by other international wholesalers or even on the internet.
If we allow this to happen, we pay cheap price to earn goods, are we ripping off a family’s income and making the rich richer and the poor poorer? The bad people badder and the good people suffer?
If I can see the future I would say that, if we allow to let ourselves to ignore where our clothes comes from, who makes it and if there can be a fair trade in the fashion industry. I think it’s a step to earth down failing its main occupants, the human beings.
I mean, what I am trying to say is that, the longer we ignore this issue, the faster the whole world will move according to the leverage.
The leverage of what I called Karma working along with what you subconsciously ignore.
Don’t you think that when we pay cheap price for any garments or anything, we are being our own worst enemies? Somebody is out there controlling parts of the economics. And I think we should start asking where the things we use are everyday comes from and if they are manufactured and sourced ethically.
Plainly and simply, when we start to ignore the price we allow ourselves to pay for any goods, in the future, practically we are saying this is very cheap I can afford this, and sooner or later, your wages will go down and you will say, I can still afford things but I can’t really save for any extra now, but there might be other things that will be priced more higher like food or gas. The longer you keep silent, the lower your wages will get and the harder you have to work to provide for your family, thus the more expensive your daily necessities will cost, milk, bread or rice.
We need to start to care what happens now. There is a major change in our earth. We need to take part and make this change to a good life, instead of letting the ruthless and the rich tramples on the less fortunate.
There will be a point where we will be back in the dark centuries, when the Industrial Revolution started. Only the poor or the rich will exists. Nobody will be having a median income; it’s either too little or too much.
Once we realised that we should start digging up the future from our present actions, then I think we will be slightly safer knowing that, the economists or, international manufacturers or businesses cannot dictate how much low or high things get. We are the user and we should be able to have a say in the current world bartering system.
I want the world to be a better place, I want everyone to be slightly equal or have the same opportunities. I want the humans in this world to have a 95% of generosity and compassion and sharing with love.
That is the point of this words I have written, I genuinely think we are the humans who controls ourselves and nothing in this world can control you unless you let them or decided to stand back and be a watcher. Everyone should be a do-er and just do the things to make life better.
Don’t just be a user, be an ethical user. You might be used next if not.
Please read this articles for more proof that we can care more for the world no matter what differences we have, we are human.
