Laura Ashley Pattern McCall M5232 !!!!

from this link! http://www.mccallpattern.com/item/M5232.htm??tab=evening_prom_bridal&page=1

Oooh i so adore it! The link from A dress a day brought me to it! Gosh I so love it! I like all four of them in it. It is truly a Laura Ashley style, as I have worked there a few years after graduating high school, and ooo i so adore it. I'm gonna make my own pattern based on the design up there. In Laura Ashley we have clothes allowances, we get uniforms from it. So truly truly fabulous. One of my senior mates has a wardrobe full of them. She said when she feels angry or upset, she opens her wardrobe and look at all the pretty clothes she has. Ooooo, how wonderful. She is reallly funny and cool senior colleague. One day she did a catwalk interpretation of the stuck up ish models you see most the time. She has a dual personality, when she's not being serious, she can make us laugh sooo hard. She's Sheilah. Miss the bunch of girls in Laura Ashley so bad. I'm gonna make some stuff and send it to them soon. With my label in it. They are so nice to me and I guess this is how I'm going to make them happy besides i tend to forget things too... hehe. Cool day today! Yayyyy

I know. I know Now.

I am exploring different interesting related crafts at a consecutive time. Sewing, then textile printing, knitting, then crocheting, then print gocco or screen printing, then embroidery and then ... who knows what else.

I am learning who I am in this process of exploration. I'm in a lady sherlock outfit. Investigating craft frenzy phenomenon that is taking over Mynrose's world. She wants everything, to know everything, but is there enough time? Yes of course there is!

Today Lady Mynrose purchased, all the items below.

An embroidery thread.
Embroidery Hoop
Crochet hooks
and threads.
This is all thanks to trademe.com shopping.

To help me further my exciting journey in the craft stitching realm!

I have wide variation of interests. Totally humongous. I'm a gemini! You know, twins. So they have lots to do and yap yap yap. Must do it! Two for one and one for all! Together we unite, and we prevail!

Today I have accomplished 2 pincushions, and 3 coin purses.

Aah. And I forgot. totally lost track of time. Jennifer/Mum's birthday present. OOoo , hum.. tote bag. or patchwork bag, .... okay im off to think about it and do it before the night turns to morning. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Coin Purse Funkee.

I use my fabric scrap from making the Lyrical Red bag and search for some short zips in my stash and make these beautiful coin purses. Love it!

I love the fabric and how it borders with flowers and tiny polka dots. I'm keeping one for myself and the others to either sell, or give it as a present!

Pin Cushion ZenMetal

Wooo hoo. My very own pin cushion that is actually nice lol. I used this paperstringcloth.blogspot.com pin cushion tutorial.

Will be making more! :) Its real fun. The button in the middle is vintage. Isn't this cool?!? Thanks to paperstringcloth.blogspot.com and her latest blog is this Hyena in petticoats. Kinky name isn't it.

Now I'm off to do another project. Pouch Bags!

Hackdown

As the title of this posts say, What it means I do not know. Ha.

Well, I'm looking around in my room, such a mess. I wish i was sabrina the teenage witch, i cud snap my fingers and the room magically turns into a neat order. Hey.. i kinda miss sabrina the teenage witch's show and novels. Miss em. I collect the novels when i was young, every week I'll buy the latest one out. Now all of them are in the most top cabinet in my old room in KL. I miss all my good books. Its turning into a major library. Anyhoo.

My apron. I've completed it but i think something is being an annoyance, the janome sewist machine. Maybe its because i didn't put back the compartment that u can pull out, so it rattles or maybe its because i press the feet too hard and it goes too fast and it shakes and makes the bobbin thread goes berserk, or maybe it is because of the bobbin tension gone haywire. what do you think? hurm.dee hurm.hurm.

Also. A bernina 217 Industrial sewing machine is for sale. I kinda feel Esther is so right about domestic machine being sooo temperamental. Like look at the janome acting up. I spent good 400 bucks on it and its being *no word to describe it* to me.

here is a picture of that bernina.
i think to have an industrial machine is really good if you are into sewing business and stuff. I remember sewing the dress for my first fashion project, the last minute it was acting up. using my mum's domestic singer machine. damn. I think i wanna hit it so hard, the machine that is. Okay so imagine it just at the side there. In my sewing room. Hmm. I know just there behind me. Just imagine being able to put your books on the table and not use the table to put all your sewing machines. i currently have 3 machines on this table. my janome, singer overlocker, and an antique lada. which i do use.

last night i play chess with aaron, and i won woohoo, after not even having a strategy to win. its really cool when i got to check mate him. he can't move anywhere to save his butt. if he moves to the front he's gonna get eaten by my queen, and also to the right, and to the back my soldier cud eat him and here is a picture of the chess board to show u it. lol.
the king is in the middle , white colour. standing beside 2 soldiers. my queen is at the L shape to him. and my 2 soldiers standing next to the queen. I have a horse that is going to eat him. And a castle thingie that is blocking his way . Waaaahaaaa. IM SUCH AN EVIL GENIUS.

oKAY, need to settle down and decide to do my own stuff now.

1. i just want this room tidy again.
2. clean room
3. print stuff.
4. do stuff.
5. stuff.
6. how about sleep...
7. re arrange room to put my industrial sewing machine up.
8. seriously. darn it.

make bags and sell a lot of em
make 10 bags first then.

then make those cute tiny little pin cushions u been wanting to do.
and make patterns for that boxy. sizing it down.
ok will continue tomorrow morning.

1. clean room and make stuffs.

Print Gocco

As I was reading this blog, tinyhappy I was so keen to know more about print gocco and search for it in trademe new zealand. And found nothing. But then I search through google.com and found that just a month ago 3 of the print gocco's machine was sold through trademe, both is on the 21st july. And if not mistaken it is the only time that trademe has sold this item online.

As I am discovering the new world of textile printing, I would soooo much like it to have them in my hands. Imagine it now. Imagine using it. Imagine all the great possibilities of products you can make with it. Countless possibilities. A new world wide open! I wish to have it in my hands soon. Yes!

Below is the pictures from trademe.

This auction won at $115NZD

Over The Line for GigaBytes

I've crossed the limit for this month's 5GB account. Rawr. But so totally worth it. I will be posting less stuff, maybe. But will post more simple text words like this.

Well on Friday, I went out to job hunt. And gave my CV to several people. And went to Fabric Warehouse! I should so totally take a picture of it, now to think of it. It was my first time traveling there alone. I found fabulous fabrics. Bought some essential calico(bleached) and bought remnants, this purple fabric with goldish pin stripes and this polyester pastel apple? green lining. Then there are 2 fabrics I bought to make stuff up. Which is for apron, a wonderful print fabric cream background with blue green colored flowers. And next after several tempting seduction from this pastel high class pink cotton, i totally devour it so much that I got it. All for that is around $56 dollars after I told them I'm a student of their regulars, with additional 20% discount. Woo-hoo! How awesome!

Today, I went to class. I learn to sew apron. But didn't finish it. So, making it tonight after having dinner.

All I need to do left is to turn the inside out through the hole for the back strap and the neck strap for the apron (press them first too) and, stitch down at those 3 straps and stitch the 1cm seam around and make sure i leave a birthhole. Have to make sure as well to leave a 1cm gap at the top part of the apron to the sides, so that when I sew the apron up, the handles wont get shutted*poo.>

After that I will need to turn it right side out, and stitch the birth hole. Next edge stitch it and make it neat. Then Press for Perfection.

And then all done.

Tip1# Don't use the turn it over trick for the straps, such a waste of time. and then... use this method. one piece of fabric, overlock one side, imagine 2 lines on the fabric strap and fold the un-overlocked piece in, and fold the overlocked piece on that one, and stitch down. Saves time and hassle-free. Proven by my wonderful tutor, Esther

We talked about my mynrose for spring pouch. And she loved it. She said its versatile and convenient for almost anything. Like tablets, hand phone charger, it can fit into a bag easily and looks good and design is nice. ALL i need to improve on is the sewing stitches and the quality.

1. Is the material thick enough? Yes because the tshirt transfer paper with the fabric together made it thick enough. Good.
2. I used overlocking stitch to sew it done. It is seen to make the seam stitches appear. What do I do to avoid that. I machine stitch it and then I overlock it. Quality vs. Empowered Look. That is what overlocking stitches do, the stitches is revealed because of the loose ends that comes from overlocking stitches.

Esther likes the one that I made originally and I'm making one exactly the same for her. So then I'll make a few more like a dozen to sell it online in trademe, Mynrose member ID and through Esther as well.

I'll have to buy more ink and set up the costs that goes for the spring pouches. Cause. I'm using transfer paper and it costs a bit more. But the design is totally original and I do hope people will spend more on it if they would loveeeee to have it.

Mynrose for spring

Yesterday I work on developing a print for my pouch collection. I redrew my rose picture and thicken the border to get the effect i wanted. And as such the above pictures reveal the process.

The colour is actually purple and went it gets direct hit from sunlight, you can see its purple.

It looks kind of vintage and leathery at first. Antique at some stage. I totally dig it.
A leather effect without using real leathers.

I'm going to use this today. But I will need to make another one. Make it perfect.
Oooh :)

What should I do ?

Ive been meaning to go have a haircut. Shorten my hair to my neck length. Have a side fringe. And I also been meaning to make another bag for my mum. Have to design it myself. Also wanted to do this azalea style dress from burdastyle. But i find that fabrics not enough and i love the fabrics too much to choose them for use in that style. I also been meaning to have a job.

Its a sunny day out and its windy as well.

Aaron got me the pencils so I could draw. And I'm out of paper. Need to buy a whole A4 stack of em.

12.40pm now. Had no nightmares today. There is a class today at 5.30-8.30 pm. or is it 6pm? I'm not entirely sure.

I ask myself what I want to do now and its eat. Because I'm hungry. Haven't eaten anything since I got up this morning. Bad habit lol. After I eat what do I want to do. I want to ... well honestly what I want to accomplish is to draw good. And from those good drawings I can design. And from what I can design I want to create.

Also I need to develop some photos. It was from Picton to Wellington and in Wellington.
Its from my fisheye camera. A Lomocam. I love photography.

And besides that I want to ... make bags and sell em. Small cutey pouch for everyone to use in spring. I guess what I can work on is spring bags. pick a theme and brainstorm. I have an interesting idea which I cannot say. lol.

A new line will be out for spring. watchout for mynrose's pouch collection.!

will be brainstorming until1.45pm and then will be catching a feed. if i have a lake i wud totally have fresh fish and lemon and ... sprinkle some basil. oh yumm.

Sketch - eye

I sketched the Maudella Pattern 5141 and drew some eyes. The first one I drew was the cocky one on the far right. The number 5, is the one I admire most and it will be my signature eye until i come up with another eye. All this eyes were drawn from a picture in Fashion Illustration Book.
Up there is a sketch of a thumb. It looks wonky but hey, still looks like a thumb :)

Big Right Feet

When I went to buy shoes. I tried them on and told the salesperson, the shoe on my right seems tight. And she explains to me that most people have one feet bigger than the other. And I was, ooo i remember. So here are my new clark shoes.! Yay. taking a picture now.

That is a size 5 1/2 Clarks Shoes. Ganada 2 Navy Leather Made in Brazil. Really comfy. It was NZD$135.20. Money worth spend. Shoes are like your your underwear's. You have to make sure they are comfortable and you feel good wearing them. So choose wisely and 1st thing, Comfort!

Self-Reflection

I got all this sources here, to invent. But what is stopping me? I want to know.

Is it lazy? okay i found the answer. while i was writing. i went to my fabric place and took out some fabric and was placing the patterns on it.

I have.

short attention span.

I need to focus. All this time i have been rummaging around unnecessary stuff when what I need to do is just in front of me.

And I went to google about how to treat this disorder, i found out its an disorder. Short Attention Span. Merely known for kids not adults.

Here I copy pasted from a fellow blogger. Japan Rider on
10 tips to cure your short attention span

A quick search in Google for "short attention span" turns up a lot of information on ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) in children and how to treat it. But what about we adults? There's not much information or help at all if you are an adult merely suffering a temporary (or semi-permanent!) bout of "short attention spanness", which I'll dub SAS. Since I'm a frequent sufferer of the above mentioned SAS, I thought I'd write a little about how I combat it.

Here are 10 things I do. I'm not sure whether these will work for you or not, but they seem to help inject some stability and focus when my mind is feeling particularly fractured:

  1. Kill all unnecessary external stimuli. This means turn off the TV. TV is fun, it's good to relax after over-focusing on stuff, and since it requires little focus, it might seem like just what you need. However, lack of focus (SAS) is a sign that you are suffering from too much external stimuli - and TV the enemy!
Although the fellow blogger says to turn off the tv, i find that turning it on or having something on will help me focus better. It is something like a distraction to counteract all distractions. So I am inline with my brain and thoughts.
  1. Stare at a wall for five minutes in silence. I'm serious - it's called "meditating". I tend to stare at my ceiling, which has an intricate pattern of lines, and I simply try, over and over, to count those lines. Though for meditation gurus, you're really supposed to think about nothing at all. Zip. Zero. Nada. Nothing...for we mere mortals, that's tough. So I count the lines in the pattern, and eventually try to pay attention to what sounds I can hear - a car passing by outside, the refrigerator fan, etc...Then I concentrate on how the air feels on my skin. This clears my mind of all the other thoughts and pressures imposing on me.
I think for me it is that i pay too much attention to the noises around me, I am that sensitive to hearing. I still remember when I was in high school trying to study, even the pipes were annoying me, I study with a full volume metal song, in my ipod with earphones in my ears and I take cold showers to stay fresh 3 times in less than 5 hours. That was a major exam.
  1. Take a hot (hot!) bath, complete with scented bath salts by candlelight . This is a precursor and/or substitute for number 4. Allows a brief escape, and simply being "locked" in a small room with limited stimuli is a good thing.
I hate being locked in a small room. But i don't mind being locked in my room/house the whole day.
  1. Aromatherapy. That's just a fancy word for "burn some incense". I also dim the lights, play some of my favourite New Age music (generally aiming for some vintage Loreena McKennitt) and stare into darkness.
I think I should try that now. *wants to get up straight away just now* the thought came but i didn't budge.
  1. Exercise. If possible, out of doors, where you can walk, run or ride and feel like you don't ever have to stop. This frees the minds and relaxes the body.
I think i like to turn the music on and start dancing. I use to do that, I don't know why I don't now.
  1. Drink some St. John's Wort herbal tea, or take the tablets. St. John's Wort helps stabilize one's moods in general and is helpful in alleviating the symptoms of SAS.
I like earl grey, what tablets? St. John's Wort? Haven't heard of it before. okay here is the meaning to it. its actually herbal not a brand.

"This fact sheet provides basic information about the herbA plant or part of a plant used for its flavor, scent, or potential therapeutic properties. Includes flowers, leaves, bark, fruit, seeds, stems, and roots. St. John's wort—common names, uses, potential side effects, and resources for more information. St. John's wort is a plant with yellow flowers whose medicinal uses were first recorded in ancient Greece. The name St. John's wort apparently refers to John the Baptist, as the plant blooms around the time of the feast of St. John the Baptist in late June.

Common Names—St. John's wort, hypericum, Klamath weed, goat weed

-from http://nccam.nih.gov/health/stjohnswort/"
  1. Do some puzzles. Something not too tough - some sudoku, easy crosswords or logic puzzles. Challenging enough to keep you interested, but not so challenging as to make you lose interest! Just a temporary fix, but still helpful and keeps your mind sharp!
erm...i don't have an interest in it, but I do like chess.
  1. Create a To-Do list. Too practical, true. And it seems counter-intuitive - you already have too much to do, right? But writing it down will free your brain so it doesn't have to keep coming back to the thought "Oh, I've still got to..." right when you're in the middle of something else. The paper and pen method, in a nice little agenda, works better for me than any of the numerous online to-do lists(Ta-Da Lists, Remember the Milk).
I actually started doing To-Do-List as well and it did help. Because I make myself stick to it without jumping around and getting confuse at which one to do first.
  1. Avoid alcohol, at least til the SAS passes.
I dont drink
  1. If all else fails, pull a Garbo (you know, "I vant to be alone"...). Go into seclusion, and while there, employ all of the above.
I think that was what I've been doing my entire teenage years. . . Am I doing it now?? Darn the Short Attention Span. I want my FUll Attention Back!

PS:As this post has taken several hours to complete, due to SAS and frequent side-trips to Digg and List Universe, please take this advice at your own risk!

"taken from fellow blogger, Japan Rider

Well from what I can see above, I think that i must keep doing the to-do-list but i keep putting it off... and it keep haunting me, maybe i shud not keep it off and it wont hunt me. Maybe my aim right now to finish off all the stuff in my to-do list in order of priority.

I remember using my xda2mini to help me organise my sh*ts. And it sure did hella lot helped me in the past years. Except i try to fix it into a new cover but it wont turn on now.

I think throughout this years, I just realise I in fact, actually REALLY realise, that I'm short attention span. Unless this just happen?

... no comment to that?

Things that inspire me for Fashion Ideas

1. Fabrics
2. Buttons
3. Motives/Pictures

I like to browse fabrics and touch 'em and ask for samples. I like to collect buttons when I see the colour is nice and might go nice with some fabric and totally make a subtle statement. I go for gentle and elegant. Motives and pictures are like flowers, clouds, you name it. Anything is possible.

Your mind is greater than a war zone. You can make peace or riot. It is that strong.

You can make anything you think of. So just take out that snazzy pink pen and start sketching already!

Admiring Boxy

My first made clothing. I chose to be shorts. And altered it to be a womens boxers. So I name is Boxy. after Boxers for Men. I did my own pattern drafting from my personal body measurements.

obstacles in this project

1. fitting, i find that the leg hole was too loose for comfort so i fitted it by sewing from the bottom of the waist band inwards to the end of the shorts at 3 inches inwards.
2. altering the pattern pieces i made 3 times. the first boxy i made was too tight as I didn't allocate enough room for crotch area. And so I used french curve in order to help make the crotch area and by using the crotch area size from the pattern i had. French Curve in courtesy of Lutterloh Pattern Drafting Tools.
3.sewing part, well, to use a domestic machine to sew the waistband area is kinda a hustle, and at a time i kind of twank my wrist. I have no idea how possible that was.

things to think about

1. choose fabric that is soft to your skin, make sure you are not allergic to any materials and if u are, make sure u choose something else.
2. silk is often use as a lingerie/clothing you wear straight on your skin so you feel good
3. fitting is always important. I did a lot of machine basting to see if i could stretch my legs and still feel comfortable when sitting down or lying down. then i overlock it. as a permanent finish
4. pressing needs to be done on all garments, on the seam while you sew, unfortunately i didn't do that. but i will, after this goes into the wash.
5. oh and also, make sure that you pre-wash all your fabrics. as sometimes fabrics that were not pre-wash will shrink, and fabrics that have not been washed(when they actually need it) need to be pre-shrink!

So that is about it for my project now.

Shopping Spree @ Mary Potter Hospice

Knitting stuffs~ The woman's booklet is dated February4,1961. Old huh. I love vintage!! Booklets!!! I'll share what's in it soon.

What you call it? Up there, that pic. Sleeve thingie i think. Presser? Board? Please someone tell me? The sleeve board thingie is a brabantia brand and was made in holland! Got it for $3NZ. In Mary Potter Hospice. Cool!

Don't you love to shop there? I love it, its cheap and you're doing charity too! All the bits I can do to support my surrounding!

Arthur Toye~

On Friday I went to Arthur Toye to get Calico, something like Muslin and Toile. Its pronounce as "twah" I think but similar to that. Hee hee. When I went to the remnant table, I saw that amazing shiny baby blue with light golden weave. SOoo nice. Its 1.3m x 1.3m But I just checked and it has a straight line cut through it. Waaa! So Maybe I'll just pop in there and ask them if they can help me for that straight obvious jaded cut.

I plan to make a A line or Roundish skirt with that fabric. With a similar color blue to the fabric, waist band. and maybe the lining will just be a white poly.

Ideas : Pastel Pink Trenchcoat

this with a knee length trenchoat, button down shoulder(need to find out what that's called) with a ribbon tie around the waist. really gentle.

A moment of uncertainty

this feeling inside
crying to get out
joy of life
seeping through the bars
of hollow skies

i wonder when i type
does it mean i have what it takes
to be a poet
or a reporter for
some random magazine

i thought i never had it in me,
to type the way i do
and find it out in the open

this is not me,

Project Shorts/Boxie's

DSC06121, originally uploaded by mynrose.

It is derived from boxers. Boxie's is for females. I will use this vintage silk fabric from japan and this elastic band.

I will make my own pattern drafts for this Boxie's and use only certain materials for it.
What I have in mind at the time being, is Silk. As silk is a very luxurious material. I wish to apply this to this Boxie's I'm producing.

Best of everything~ Good Luck! Jus had to say it >.< :p

Life Goal #3

This is my passion.

I always wanted to help others. In whatever way possible. I always want to solve problems and help out. I wish I could have one task that can start me off to help the kids in the world. I am guessing that my youth lets me stay in contact with the children's and therefore I am passionate for their upbringings. I value childhood and think that it is the most important part of ones life. I wish to make childhood for other kids memorable and surrounded with love and care.

This is my passion. I want to make a difference. Wherever you are, to start make changes you start at the beginning. And the beginning to a better future for the world, you start with the children's. They are the torch for our next millennium and beyond.

As have said, will be done.

Warm Hugs & Regards,
Me.

Awwhhh - Mommy

D.M.F

Today while I was looking at my friends blog, Hilmi I found a pic that I "think" I took. Hehe. So this is a picture of my friends back in LKW in 2006. Oh gosh how time pass.

The number 10 person is behind the lens. Lol.

We found this group from our first year and right after orientation. This all starts in the campus accommodation.

First the friendship came about when I met Hilmi, the dude with specs beside the first left guy, Keith. He was friends with the birthday girl in the middle of the picture who is cutting her cake, about to lol; and Harris behind the birthday girl, Enbi. The girl next to Enbi is Catherine who is her room-mate, and the guy in the middle top of the pic is Marcus. And the person who I got to know first is Cherrie who is the girl between Keith and Hilmi. I know Cherrie and Caster who are room-mates and they were so nice to me during my first week of orientation. Caster is the far right wearing a horizontal chalk stripe red blouse. And Keith's twin brother is doing the rock sign just at far right corner of the group, lol. After 2 years I still know how to differentiate Keith and Kevin, what a wonderful memory I have :p

Marcus was friends with Keith and Kevin. I made friends with them by being so bored and lurking at the 2nd level(guys level). Wait I think this has to do with a soccer ball somewhere around that level. Well that's how I met Marcus, who introduce me to Keith and Kevin. We go down to the guy's level to do homeworks, at their lounge sometimes. And sometimes people go up to the girls level to do homeworks too. Ooooh and we cook together at the girls level. My best time lol.

And then we have, ...Me getting to know the hilmi and enbi and harris. So that's how I know them. And I introduce Cherrie and Caster to Hilmi and enbi and haris and I think I also introduce Keith and Kevin and Marcus to them.

So, this all started when I get bored in the campus. What our activities were, cooking together, studying together, sleeping together, waking up together, lol, playing guitar and teaching how to play guitar, playing soccer, make-up and hair style competition, we even plan a trip for semester break together to Port Dickson. It was nice. We had a blast~~

I remember when I start knocking on people's door and .... saying I'm bored. >.< my face is red. I can't handle boredom. Lol. Well there one more girl that is supposed to be in this picture, but she wasn't close to us very much, I brought her along in this group not long after. Her name is Rong and she's in Japan and she's my best best best-est friend. And this group was our family. And I think in our heart it still is. Although most of us have been apart. Someday maybe we will have a re-union.

We did have a talk, if Someone opens a company that requires any of their professionalism, we will work with each other and support each others goals.

I miss these guys and would love to meet them again someday. And all of us can dine out and have fun like before. :)

The Secret

Thoughts become things.

Energy flows where attention goes.

Believe and the universe delivers every time.

My mantra

Think good things and good things come to you.
What you think is what you get.
Think good things and good things come to you.
What you think is what you get.

I am happy that I am still alive and embracing the love of my life. I live with passion for my surroundings and loving each and every bit of the challenge that comes to me. I live positively and that's how I am happy and receiving good things with abundance and bliss.
