For all you out there who have heard of YKK at the back of your mind. Let me tell you what it is. Cause I also just too found out, after thinking just a bit of YKK. You see zips? Most of the time there are these 3 Capital Alphabets on the zipper. YKK. It is actually a Global Brand Company that produces zips , that you can just pop things together to make it stick and make new things! Here is Annah Sheldon with her movie, which won her an award from YKK.
Very funky her design and movie is damn interesting. So here is her Interview, which explains everything about the movie and what inspires her.
Have you heard of him? I haven't. But news to me that he was Alexander McQueen's Assistant.

The picture below is his Fashion Project.

Its supposed to do with some Irony?
"Daniele presents 'The Irony of Fashion - an intimate procession for an extraordinary courting'; the concept of his collection is based on the universe of the 'Freaks' Show' as well as on that of the Fashion Styling mania that nowadays pervades magazines and photo shoots where everything is based on luxury accessories which, contemporaneously, according to him, transform models into ugly monsters: Monsters of the present against monsters of the past then. The collection presents 3 menswear and 5 womenswear outfits." From http://www.itsweb.org/jsp/en/collectiondata/collectionID_1_talentID_22_conctype_0.jsp
Well I guess to make a Fashion Show a Freak Show is highly understated. Don't you think it's not a Freak Show already when the skinny girls / fashion models collapsed right there and then at the catwalk? This happened like in 2006 or 2007. Zandra Rhodes had a model fell at the catwalk years and years ago, the shoe that was worn by the model is in a museum in London. Talking about model figurines. Bones, unflattering figures slips into a dress that is supposed to be highly elegent and couture? Is that pretty or monstrosity? Yuck.
I have no Idea really, His project doesn't seem to make sense to me. Wait I think I get it. He's just being ironic yeah. Freak shows as Fashion Shows. It brings the monsters out of everybody in the Fashion World really. Tough Man. Lol.
My first temp assignment. Mail Sorting. And i finished in time.
There was this computer visitor log, where I put my name in, and from company is Temporary Angels, then I had to take a picture of myself like a webcam. And then they printed me a Visitor Pass automatically. Cool.
Right? But I couldn't keep the Pass :( Sadness. It was so cool!!!!! That was like my first Visitor Pass that I even Liked!
So the day went alright, Didn't take my break. Needed to finish the workload. There was about 150-200 Letters to Fold and stack. And need to do loads Photocopying.
So that is my experience in New Zealand Wellington as a Holiday Worker who just got her first assignment after a few months looking for a job.
Hey at least I worked!!!!!!!!!!!

"In rural southwest Uganda, the community organization PARDI has established several vocational training centers for orphans of AIDS. Orphans who work at the Kitenge Tailoring Training School learn the essentials of tailoring and can then support themselves and their families."
You know sometimes when you think that Life Sucks? Put your feet in their shoes, if they're lucky to have any or bare foot. Life is not fair, sometimes, but things turns around. Someday these Uganda Children will have a better life. Earning an honest living out of Needle and Thread.
Just believe things will get better soon. Have Faith.

VINTAGE vs RETRO
Having dealt in both vintage and retro fabrics over the years, it has come to my notice that not many people are aware of what the words mean. to look it up in the Cambridge dictionary, the word 'vintage' has the following explanation:of high quality and lasting value, or showing the best and most typical characteristics of a particular type of thing, especially from the past:that's right folks, the past is the key word here.
Vintage fabrics cover those which come from a different time/era, eg. vintage 60s/ vintage 40s, etc. The fabric or item has to be produced in the time it supposedly comes from.
"retro" on the other hand means: looking at or copying the past; similar to styles, fashions, etc. from the pastThe key words here are: copying and similar, meaning that retro items/pieces are NOT the original. Retro items=COPIES of vintage items.
There seems to be much confusion between the two, that I have noticed and consumers are often NOT AWARE of the difference, allowing themselves to get ripped off of copies which they believe to be original and therefore vintage!
I often wonder if even the people handling these items are aware of the difference!
Flowerdrum bags use both vintage AND retro fabrics and it is clearly stated which is which; Flowerdrum Deluxe items are produced from VINTAGE fabric and are priced accordingly, while the Tropical range often includes retro fabrics at a much cheaper price.
Each Deluxe item comes in a limited quantity, with a maximum of 6 pieces as vintage fabrics are rare and getting rarer by the day!So, if it's a particular style you are looking for but can't find, then retro is fun but if you are looking for real classic designs, vintage is the way to go!
I'm looking for the perfect sewing machine to be loyal to for around 10 years that is good performing machine for sewing garments. Requirements are auto-manual, footstepper that speeds up when you press it slightlier, umm, what else is there, well see through bobbin place is good, so i know when the thing is running out.
I basically want something like my mum's she has a Singer she bought like around 10 years ago. She said it was expensive. Maybe thats why she does'nt wanna give it to me. Sigh. Anywayy, Its a good old Singer that has its plastic cover, and etc's.
I was wondering if any of you guys have idea's on a perfect machine for sewing garments. Im good with machines, so basic stuff doesn't cut it. I was thinking if I can get one of those industrial machine, but i have no idea about the options.
What I really need to get is a Sewing Machine which helps me to work with garments, delicate stufff like silks, and also denim's, gentle and hardcore. I'm thinking of getting Singer but to tell you the truth it looks crappier. Even my mum's old one looks darn good and brand new than their plastical buttons. Some of / Lots of Singer's stuff now is yucky and looks like you can break it in a punch >.<
Husqvarna's been told it's good, Bernina, read around its good, Singer old ones are damn good, Pfaff I kinda like Pfaff, saw one I liked, and Janome is my last option, I really want something sturdy, and will be waiting for some replies!

How to Take Minutes at a Business Meeting

Rate: (108 Ratings)
Business meetings may be conducted formally or informally, depending on the company and the circumstances. Taking good minutes during a business meeting can be a crucial time and headache saver and it's a skill that is greatly appreciated by employers. The following guidelines are based on Robert's Rules of Order.
Instructions
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
Portable Tape Recorders
Blank Tapes
Notebook Papers
Computers
Taking Minutes
Step 1:Obtain the meeting agenda, minutes from the last meeting, and any background documents to be discussed. Consider using a tape recorder to ensure accuracy.
Step 2:Sit beside the chairperson for convenient clarification or help as the meeting proceeds.
Step 3:Write "Minutes of the meeting of (exact association name).
Step 4:Record the date, time and place of the meeting.
Step 5:Circulate a sheet of paper for attendees to sign. (This sheet can also help identify speakers by seating arrangement later in the meeting.) If the meeting is an open one, write down only the names of the attendees who have voting rights.
Step 6:Note who arrives late or leaves early so that these people can be briefed on what they missed.
Step 7:Write down items in the order in which they are discussed. If item 8 on the agenda is discussed before item 2, keep the old item number but write item 8 in second place.
Step 8:Record the motions made and the names of people who originate them.
Step 9:Record whether motions are adopted or rejected, how the vote is taken (by show of hands, voice or other method) and whether the vote is unanimous. For small meetings, write the names of the attendees who approve, oppose and abstain from each motion.
Step 10:Focus on recording actions taken by the group. Avoid writing down the details of each discussion.
Transcribing Minutes
Step 1:Transcribe minutes soon after the meeting, when your memory of the event is still fresh.
Step 2:Follow the format used in previous minutes.
Step 3:Preface resolutions with "RESOLVED, THAT..."
Step 4:Consider attaching long resolutions, reports or other supplementary material to the minutes as an appendix.
Step 5:Write "Submitted by" and then sign your name and the date.
Step 6:Place minutes chronologically in a record book.
Tips & Warnings
You do not need to record topics irrelevant to the business at hand. Taking minutes is not the same as taking dictation.
Consult only the chairperson or executive officer, not the attendees, if you have questions.
The person taking minutes does not participate in the meeting.

Today we ventured to the city gallery in civic square. Theres a ball of metal fern in the middle of the civic square. That was cool. For me wellington seems to look like its a advanced art city, everywhere you look there are art objects displayed. It seems like its the most creative capital in the country but I might think that even other regions in New Zealand has their own creative arts in each own. Take for example the thumb in Nelson Public Library. That's one.
Okay, i feel like writing something longer something like a diary. is it safe for people to blog and write it like a diary? what happens when someone stalks you through your blog and you end up dead the next day? Murder through blog I should say. Where does privacy line stops in the 21st Century? As much as you can stop? or as much as that person can dig? The use of internet has made a lot of people linked. To anyone or anything. like a web. Put down a name in google in a correct way and you can find their profile details and even more, maybe some phone numbers and address and pictures too.
See, the internet is another world here, cyber world. It consists of 2D images or 3D, 4D or in what ever dimensions these IT tech people have discovered. You can touch your screen, but you can't touch the objects in the screen. Its a TV World which you can interact. And the subjects in that world can interact back with you. Like MSN Messenger. Its also a portal to make friends. Through Facebooks, Myspace and Friendster. Its a platform for business, to reach gaps within north and south end of the world.
What I think we should start doing is that try and reach other galaxies using frequencies. How about linked all the connections in the world to a set frequency, boom it off the satellite and into the space. And see what you can interact with. A crazy idea , but if you put your mind to it, very possible. its like making earth a giant satellite, a communicating planet besides what mercury is known for, to seek attention from other galaxies. Try capture interests from aliens? WHo invented the word Alien anyway? We should find that out. How did they get to know that "alien" is out there? Might be alien is just alike to human.
I'll let you figure that out, watching simpsons.
Mwahaha
Well now I'm hopping from a topic to the next. Back to real world here.
I had an early morning start sending my CV's off to a lot of recruitment agencies. And one gave me a call!
Had an interview there, took a speed typing test, I scored 60wpm! and I got 91% and 83% for Microsoft Word and Excel Test.
The jobs that was to be offered is inclining towards Office tasks admins, etc.
Here's a picture of The Folder I've gotten. I have to complete the forms in it and be back there tomorrow. I'm hitching a ride with him on his way to work to send me off to The Terrace. May be stop by Adecco, and GBL Personnel, go see Helen from Ultimate Recruitment for position to work Full Time with Karen Walkers and go get myself some form's from Immigration >.<

Moon Day & Night This picture were photographed by me, few hours gap from both. Hmm now to think of it, it slightly turn a few degrees to the left? Yeah huh, its anonymous. Do we spin or does the moon spin around us? Its a satellite right? So the moon is the one spinning around us? Cool lol. Sorry blonde moment.
About human rights
Human rights matter, and affect the lives of each and every one of us. Every person has inherent dignity and value. Human rights recognise our freedom to make choices about our life and develop our potential as human beings. Human rights deal with how people relate to one another. They are about how we live together: about our responsibilities to each other. Respect for each other's rights helps diverse groups to share New Zealand in harmony. In particular, these rights set a basis for the relationship between the individual and the State, between the governed and those who govern.
But responsibility to respect human rights extends well beyond the State, to regional and local government, to the business and community sectors, to voluntary groups and organisations. Each and every one of us has a duty to exercise our rights responsibly and to acknowledge and respect the rights of others.
What are human rights?
Human rights represent common values drawn from the world's diverse spiritual, religious, humanist, political and cultural beliefs. They underlie our expectations about life, education, health, work, our personal security, equal opportunity and fair treatment, and our systems of government.
Human rights are inherent, inalienable, universal, indivisible and interdependent. They are inherent, in that they belong to everyone because of their common humanity. They are inalienable, in that people cannot give them up or be deprived of them by governments. They are universal, in that they apply regardless of distinctions such as race, sex, language or religion. They are indivisible, in that no right is superior to another. They are interdependent, in that realisation of one right contributes to the realisation of other rights.

So here I am, its 4 hours since I've woken up.
Still waiting for a phonecall.
Still hoping for a job.
Still hoping for survival.
Still hoping, and believing.
What can I do rather than still hoping and hoping and moping around like a child in a flat which is so tiny and has nothing else in it other than a TV, and my laptop. What else am I to do?
I want to work! I want to DO SOMETHING! Something really PRODUCTIVE. I am never without something to do! I always want to do something!
I miss working so much, It gives me a filling , this fulfillness in life, to have a job, a career, if I was back in KL, I could have gotten a raise!!! 1.8K for a monthly salary is not bad in Malaysian Standards. Argh, Maybe I'll go back to KL if seriously New Zealand people really can't see how they are losing a perfect employee. I mean I never ever suck at doing work. I always do my best. And I always expect good things. I always take up a challenge, unless its boring and I don't want to do it. However much I am trying, I think I have to keep trying. No giving up, until you cant do anything else but faint. Well that's extreme I s'pose, but seriously honestly I want a JOB!!! I hate not working.
How can everyone in New Zealand, aka the Employers see from a CV that I'm not good enough to be given a chance. Its their loss I s'pose. I wonder how much my colleague back at my ex company I worked at been going. The last customer I got her gave her like 20grand deposit for doing their curtains and etc all that. See? Im not that bad in handling customers, Instead I can get tonnes of customers. Its all about honestly and services. Understanding the value of providing the best.
Gosh, seriously, I talked to my partner, I explained to him why Im crippling up with trying to find work, just because everyone here wants a permanent, and I can't take permanent!!! Oh god, i explained to him, its like a Ball of Light, that consists of my youth juices, like an orb, its fainting, deeply, its losing its light, im losing my soul trying so hard to stay positive about trying to find a job in New Zealand. Its not like im disabled. Even a disabled people can get a job. So why can't I? Honestly.
This is making me feel damn sad. I want a job. I want to work. And I want to start a life. And I want Aaron to stop being frustrated about agencies toying him around. I want both of us to start a good life. Just settle in, get a job, get a good job both of us love. And having a chance to start a good life.
Honestly the pressure of trying to find a job is awful. Are we like the loser people in New Zealand? Is that why we can't get a grip? We can't get a job??? We are trying so hard. I'm sure that everyone here might be under some Outer-beauty spell. Judging a book by the cover and saying, Nah, he can't do it, she's not "New Zealand" enough. For god's sake I keep trying to stop saying they are racist, but i cant, Are these people racists? I thought New Zealand is a free country, as in peace to all and beyond or what ever unlike the US.
I apologize for saying my opinion in public. But no harm intended.
Well, i guess i have to keep searching, with much hope less. But more.
Admiring it.
Sleek to perfection. Perfectly Tailored.
Honestly I fall in love with Lee's creation every season. He totally understand MY-Kind of Fashion. I wonder if I can ever chat with him, will definitely be worth anything!
Well today I'm going to sketch something. Full figure model. And my latest design. But bad thing is that you can't see them. Because, words travel fast. I hate people who steals designers designs. Unless they come up with it at the same time.
I think I share a great deal of the same thoughts with Alexander McQueen. I see that his latest Fall 08 has one of a few stuff that I sketched last year. Well maybe it's just coincidental. But honestly, when you think about it, everything happens for a reason. Totally.
I really think that If I can nurture myself, to work harder to gain what I really want to achieve, I can be good enough as Alexander McQueen, but pardon me for being too ambitious without achieving anything yet. I do hope that I kick my arse to work. I'm the person who needs to be pushed to get going.
Hence I'm the only person who can rely on myself, If you dont care about yourself, how can the others care about you? Loving myself, I guess is a step to achieve my goals in Life. And Determination, Integrity, Hard-Willingness, Aim, Proceed, and Shoot!
In a few years to come hope I score my goals, DNA. ISA.
I was taking pics huhu. And also having to do tea. Or what I usually call it, is Dinner. Yep. Well I am better off to do some necessities in life. Still waiting for reply from Bears with Attitude. Hoping to get the job. Lorraine says she'll tell me on Monday. So hopefully I know by then.
Have to ask the time?
The Pay?
How much does it pay usually? for admin, retail, sales position, and might be visual merchandiser task too.
I wonder how much. If theres any newzealanders here who can help me out, help!!!
hehe Cheers!

Cheers~!
It was an interesting day.
Signing out,
Minrose.

Dolphin rescues stranded whales: conservation official
A dolphin guided two stranded whales to safety after human attempts to keep the animals off a New Zealand beach failed, a conservation official said Wednesday.
"I've never heard of anything like this before, it was amazing," Conservation Department officer Malcolm Smith said.
The actions of the dolphin, well known locally for playing with swimmers at Mahia beach on the east coast of the North Island, probably meant the difference between life and death for the whales, Smith told AFP.
Smith had been working for over an hour and a half to save the two pygmy sperm whales which had repeatedly become stranded despite his attempts to push them back out to sea.
A bottlenose dolphin, named Moko by locals, appeared and guided the whales to safety after apparently communicating with them, Smith said.
The whales, a three-metre (10-foot) female and her 1.5 metre male calf, were apparently confused by a sandbar just off the beach and could not find their way back to open water.
Smith had been alerted at daybreak on Monday by a neighbour about the two stranded whales on Mahia beach near his home.
"Over the next hour and a half I pushed them back out to sea two or three times and they were very reluctant to move offshore," Smith said.
"I was starting to get cold and wet and they were becoming tired. I was reaching the stage where I was thinking it's about time to give up here, I've done as much as I can."
In that situation, whales are often humanely killed to end their suffering.
Smith said Moko arrived on the scene and he could hear the whales and the dolphin making noises, apparently to one another.
"The whales made contact with the dolphin and she basically escorted them about 200 metres (yards) parallel with the beach to the edge of the sandbar.
"Then she did a right-angle turn through quite a narrow channel and escorted them out to sea.
"There's been no sign of the whales since Monday, they haven't restranded."
"What the communication was I do not know, and I was not aware dolphins could communicate with pygmy sperm whales, but something happened that allowed Moko to guide those two whales to safety."
Moko has become famous for her antics at Mahia, which include playing in the surf with swimmers, approaching boats to be patted and pushing kayaks through the water with her snout.
Such close interaction with humans is rare among dolphins but not unknown. "She's become isolated from her pod obviously for one reason or another, but obviously made Mahia home just at the moment."
Mahia gets up to 30 whale strandings a year, most of which end with the whales having to be put down.
"I don't know if next time we have a whale stranding we can get her to come in again. She certainly saved the day for us and the whales this time."
a Great story I'd like to share with you all~
BEARS WITH ATTITUDE
